What you'll do

  • Work safely at all times: on live carriageways, active car parks and busy commercial and industrial sites, your safety and that of your colleagues, clients and the public is always the priority.
  • Follow all RAMS, site instructions and Fastlane's safety procedures without exception, whilst maintaining a Dynamic Risk Assessment (DRA) mindset throughout every shift; conditions change, and you'll stay alert to them.
  • Deliver high-quality road and car-park markings (hot applied thermoplastic, MMA, paints).
  • Set out works from drawings, RAMS and site instructions.
  • Operate and maintain plant, pre-heaters and associated equipment.
  • Complete shifts safely, efficiently and to specification; sometimes working evenings, nights and weekends, to minimise client disruption.
  • Interact professionally with site managers, clients and the public, representing Fastlane with courtesy and dignity at all times.
  • Maintain accurate project, site and photographic records for quality assurance.

What we look for

  • Proven experience as a road marking operative (highways, car parks or civils).
  • Excellent customer service skills – able to communicate clearly and politely with clients and the public.
  • A can-do attitude, calm under pressure, and pride in finish and accuracy.
  • Strong awareness of health & safety and quality standards.
  • Comfortable with early starts, late nights, weekend working, and nights away with travel across the UK when required.
  • Full, Clean Class B UK driving licence.
  • Own Reliable transport to our Edinburgh Mayfield EH22 4AD or Newcastle Benton NE12 9SA Operational Yards, due to varying start and finishing times.
